Storyline
Plot Summary |
Invalid George Jones (Barry Sullivan) is both physically and mentally ill. He mistakenly believes his wife Ellen (Loretta Young) and his doctor (Bruce Cowling) are having an affair and also planning to kill him. He writes a letter to the district attorney detailing their alleged murder plot. After he has Ellen give the letter to their postman, he reveals its contents to her and then threatens her with a gun. The excitement proves to much and George suffers a fatal collapse. Now Ellen must find a way to retrieve the incriminating letter.

Goofs | Needless to say, a two-page letter, mailed in a standard #10 business envelope, with no additional enclosure-- which appears to be all that the doctor burns, in a tabletop ashtray-- would not exceed the one-ounce limit for a standard first-class letter. See more » |

Ummm... my head. Ellen Jones: Is your head bothering you? George Z. Jones: Terribly... both of them. Ellen Jones: Would you like me to rub it for you? George Z. Jones: I couldn't think of anything nicer. See more » |
