It is night time on November 5th and people are watching fireworks in the dark. However when Curly and Sergeant Cranbourne go to the Musgrave house it is broad daylight. Moments later they are outside again and it is dark.
On November 5, 1904, Alice says that Dr. Fell has been staying at the Musgrave house for three months. Consequently, she and Mrs. Musgrave are expecting him to leave within days. However, he first arrived on September 3, 1904, only two months earlier.
