Rabbit of Seville (1950)

Goofs

Rabbit of Seville

Edit

Continuity

Bugs cuts open Elmer's boot, gives him a pedicure, then slaps red paint on the toes. The same boot is intact moments later.
When Bugs first appears as the barber, there are 2 pockets on his smock: one holds the shaving brush, the other holds the razor. The shaving brush disappears and reappears, then the two pockets vanish after Bugs gives Elmer a shave.
Elmer's shotgun changes from being a single-barrel to a double-barrel, then back again.
When Bugs carries Elmer into the barber shop, Elmer's hat and Bugs' comb drop to the floor. Elmer later runs out and picks up his shotgun, which was not there before; the hat is still there but the comb has vanished. Elmer's shotgun then disappears when Bugs startles him as Elmer tries to sneak out.
The bottles and other accessories on the worktop beside the barber's chair constantly change through the cartoon.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

Bugs has three fingers and a thumb on each hand in this and other cartoons. Yet the close-ups of his hands when he grabs the "Figaro Fertilizer" and when he is rubbing it on Elmer's scalp show a regular hand with four fingers and a thumb.

Bugs needed the fourth finger on each hand to "play" the piano solo on Elmer's scalp. This was not a goof by the filmmakers.

Revealing mistakes

When Bugs cuts open Elmer's boot, Elmer isn't wearing a sock.
Bugs slams the backstage door after him, which should have locked it, yet Elmer bursts in.

Character error

The opera's director should have been on the stage the moment he heard the music. Likewise, the conductor should have stopped the orchestra once he saw Elmer then Bugs.
