Mr. Elias is a good householder, a proud husband and father, but he is poor and lives a modest life, which he can cope thanks to hard work and creativity. However, he lied to an aunt who lives far away, in Brazil, telling her that he's very rich and they live in a big and luxurious house, having a life standard that they doesn't really have. So, when news comes that she's coming to visit them and intends to stay in their house, the whole family gets nervous and worried, fearing the consequences of being caught up in the lie they have created. Taking advantage of the fact that they have the key to the spacious house of a neighbor, a wealthy naval officer who spends long absent seasons, they decide to occupy it temporarily, as if it were truly their home, in order to keep the lie. But things will get much more complicated when the respective homeowner returns suddenly.
