Goofs

Highway 301

Edit

Continuity

When Lee is locked in the room, she looks through the keyhole to see if the guard is asleep. She then slides a newspaper under the door, pushes the key out of the keyhole onto the paper, and retrieves it. However, if the key was in the keyhole, she wouldn't have been able to look through the keyhole to check on the guard.
At Madeline Wilson's apartment, the elevator indicator on the first floor has a "B" for basement on the dial. However, on the sixth floor, the "B" is missing and just shows floors 1 to 6.
When the gang returns to the Virginia apartment, Legenza orders the drapes to be drawn. Later that evening, the drapes are shown to be open.

Factual errors

After the bank robbery, a police officer finds the getaway car and calls it in to his headquarters by radio, using the call sign "KMA 367". The robbery takes place in North Carolina, but the "KMA 367" call sign--assigned by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)--is for the Los Angeles (CA) Police Dept. Call signs beginning with "K" are issued to departments on the West Coast, not the East Coast; East Coast departments are issued call signs beginning with "W".
The opening narration states that Warner Brothers has the honor of introducing the governors of three great commonwealths. While Virginia is a commonwealth, neither Maryland nor North Carolina is.

Revealing mistakes

The prison record notes of Legenza and Phillips is exactly the same except for "surly" being misspelled on Phillips' record.

Crew or equipment visible

When Bobby Mays is guarding Lee, he gets up and goes into the bathroom and turns on the light. When he does this, the camera pushes in and its moving shadow is visible to the left of the bathroom doorway.

Errors in geography

The bandits are operating in Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina, but the armored car robbery clearly takes place in another region (actually Union Station in Los Angeles) as palm trees, which do not grow on the East Coast, are visible.
