Goofs

While the setting is supposed to be a village in an African jungle, the men in the village are Asian--the actors appear to be Filipino--and the women are either white or Hispanic, have carnations in their hair and wear pareos, which are not worn in Africa but in Polynesia and other areas of the South Pacific.

One of the animals shown to be living in the jungle is a toucan. A toucan is a large-billed bird native to South America and is not found in Africa.

Jungle Jim calls the leader of the gorilla troop "Simba". That is a Swahili word that means "lion", not gorilla.

The fight between Jungle Jim and the shark is patently phony. The shark shown swimming and darting around is grainy and very obvious stock footage, and when Jungle Jim is shown fighting the shark, it is a very obvious prop, most likely rubber.

The gorillas in this film are obviously actors by their physical characteristics and actions as well as wearing poorly designed and made gorilla costumes on some of the gorillas.
