Emil Sitka actually gained a lot of bad luck while making this short. First, he did not have a pleasant working relationship with co-star Patsy Moran because of her angry, jealous attitude. Then, he severely broke his nose after getting hit with a breakaway vase during a sequence in the film. This accident caused Sitka to have internal pain in his face, neck, head and temples. It wasn't until 1953 when he was able to get treatment for his injuries and make a full recovery.
The role of Wilbur Nixon was written for Emil Sitka, himself.
Though Billie Burke is the star of this short, director Edward Bernds insisted on focusing the slapstick comedy between her co-stars/supporting cast.
