During qualifying in Billy Coy's first race in the hot rod, there is a substance (sand or oil dry) on the track surface, in turn one, during his warm-up lap, and during his first green flag lap. During the next 2 laps, turn one no longer has the substance on it, but after Billy receives the checkered flag, the substance is back on the track, and tire tracks can be seen going through the substance.
When Billy chases Happy Lee to tell him that his wheel is coming loose, Happy's car dies and Billy crashes into him. Both men are driving midgets, but the cutaway to stock footage of the wreck shows a roadster rolling over in flames.
Early in the film, Billy crashes his car. A radio announcer is giving a play-by-play description of his rescue. A man and a woman listening to the radio smile and show relief - before the announcer says that Billy has been pulled from the wreckage unhurt.
When Mickey Rooney runs out of his burning car near the end, we hear the gas tank exploding, but the car clearly hasn't exploded yet.
Lina Romay's character is called "Dolores Raymond" in the film and the name is spelled that way on the sign in the nightclub scene. However, the character is listed as "Dolores Ramon" in the end credits.
