Doris Day, Jack Carson, Don DeFore, and Janis Paige in Romance on the High Seas (1948)

Goofs

Romance on the High Seas

Edit

Continuity

When Peter and Georgia are at the bar, a bartender sets down a bowl of potato chips near her. In the next longer shot, they are missing, but reappear in the following shot.
In the first nightclub table scene, Georgia's hand is off the table in side-shots, and on the table in facial-shots.

Factual errors

When Oscar Levant is seeing off Doris Day aboard the ship, the ship's horn blows. Levant says "E-flat, that's your key". The note coming from the horn was not an E-flat, but an F.
In latter part of the movie the line was delivered that Spanish is the official language.

Revealing mistakes

About an hour into the movie, Georgia and Peter are smoking and talking at the ship's rail. When Georgia (Doris Day) tosses her cigarette "overboard", you can hear it land on the studio floor.

Character error

In the latter part of the movie one character says Spanish is the official language of Trinidad.
