- Lt. "Rocky" Lane (Alan "Rocky" Lane) of the Border Patrol sets out to find the killer of his friend Fletcher Roberts (Bruce Edwards). Thwe rumors are that Fetcher and his young outlaw brother, Tim (William Heny), killed the wranglers and stole the horse herd of their father Captain Stan Roberts (Emmett Vogan). Knowing that Fletcher could not have been involved in such a crime, "Rocky" goes to Cemetery Ridge to find Tim, whom he has never seen, and find out the truth. Just over the state border, Cemetery Ridge is a criminal's haven bossed by Jason Fox (Rory Mallison). Fox has completely deceived Tim with his grandiose pots and schemes. "Rocky" makes his entrance into the town posing as The Denver Kid and soon convinces everyone that he is a badman worthy of belonging to Fox's gang. With help from old "Nugget" Clark (Eddy Waller), "Rocky" manages to gain Fox's confidence. ""Rocky" has quickly sized up Fox as the killer and, revealing his identity to Tim, is able to arouse the misguided boy's suspicions in that direction. Although Tim doubts that Fox is capable of committing such an ordinary crime, he determines to make certain of the truth by asking Fox where he got the herd of horses he recently acquired. The evasive answer he gets from Fox convinces him that "Rocky" was right, so he plots with "Rocky" to get Fox across the border to the jurisdiction of the State Border Patrol. They do so and avenge the murder of Tim's brother. Tim is welcomed home by his father and joins "Rocky" as a member of the Border Patrol, while "Nugget" Clark takes over as the new sheriff in the cleaned-up town of Cemetery Ridge.—Les Adams <longhorn1939@suddenlink.net>
