This film, and the novel it's based on ("Airing in a Closed Carriage" by Joseph Shearing [pen name of Gabrielle Margaret Vere Long]), are based on the real-life arrest and trial of Florence Maybrick, accused of murdering her husband with poison in 1889, although this story presents an alternate solution to the crime.
This film received its USA premiere when it was initially telecast in the New York City area Tuesday 25 July 1950 on WNBT (Channel 4).
