Saw this movie a long time ago and have always remember it, not only because of the actors and actresses which did so well, but also because of the title song "La BarcadeOro" which was song by Sofia Alvarez and Pedro Infante. Such good memories!!
This was one of my first Mexican movies that I ever saw while living in Cuba. Mexican movies were very well received there and we enjoyed them very much. In particular this movie, which if I remember correctly, was about a couple of peasants living in a ranch. I do not remember clearly if at the end the main character, Chabela Vargas, represented by Sofia Alvarez, died at the end. But I do remember, the singing of the title song which was a big hit at the time, and recently had been recorded again by a group from Spain.
