Johnny breaks the driver's door window to get into his car. Later, when he and Evelyn drive to the motel, lights can be clearly seen reflecting off an intact driver's door window.
At one point after Johnny locks himself out of his car, he is seen leaning against the car door with his arm resting in the open driver's window. Clearly the windows are down.
Capt. Edmonds radios other police units that the "fugitives" are heading north, when they are actually shown to be heading south on the beach road.
