This film was a hit for MGM, earning the studio a profit of $629,000 (about $9,560,000 in 2023) according to studio records.
An album of songs from the film was released on the Cosmo Records label in July 1946. Pat Kirkwood was backed by the George Stoll Orchestra on "All the Time," "Isn't Love Wonderful," "Listen to Me" and "Love on a Greyhound Bus" on the 78 rpm album (DMR-102).
Love on a Greyhound Bus can be heard on a Sepia CD by Kay Thompson who was one of the lyricists.
According to a contemporary article in The Hollywood Reporter, Pat Kirkwood replaced Ginny Simms, and that Robert Walker was considered for the male lead in this picture.
