Lauren Graham, Parenthood actress (and new novelist!), 46, spills all. Graham's debut novel, Someday, Someday, Maybe, is out now. 1. If I'd been a boy, my parents were going to name me Grant. 2. Frederick Wiseman: 300 Million Milliseconds is an on-going series by Craig Keller exploring in chronological order of release the complete body of work of the great American documentary filmmaker.
The first entry in the series, "Ghost Meets the Man: Frederick Wiseman's 'Titicut Follies' (1967)" can be accessed here.
Philadelphia's Northeast High School is the setting for Frederick Wiseman's 1968 film High School. The movie consists of a series of enchainings that guide the viewer from one classroom, office, or assembly facility to the next, suggesting something in their contiguity of the period structure of the typical American public school from 8 to 3. Wiseman assembles his filmic Everyday from material shot across an unspecified stretch; the result is a compression, conflation, of several sessions; the implication, that such an interchangable, programmatic Ennui of Days mirrors the similar quality of the term shared by the young people enrolled in the American...

Much of the material near the end of "The Man Who Sailed Around His Soul" left a really pleasant taste in my mouth, and it wasn't only because I was drinking Phidian's during most of the episode.
Any story that deals with Chase is going to work like gang busters, but add the switching of a urine test and a pregnancy switcheroo, and you pretty much nail it.
The relationship between Chase and Chuck has been one of my favorites as of late, so seeing Chuckles disappointed after Chase failed to show up for the baseball game was originally tough to swallow.
When the big brother showed up though, it made the reunion that much more rewarding.
I am not entirely sold on how quickly Chase was ready to settle down with Alex, especially with everything that went down not too long ago between the two of them and Mia,...

CollegeHumor has made the transition from the internet’s online video hit factory with a batting average that makes Ichiro Suzuki look like Casey at the Bat, to the internet’s online video hit factory with a success rate approaching 1.000 and a stellar lineup of fantastic web series. The company launched its Fall programming slate last October, which signaled a slight change in direction from its normal college-coed and twentysomething-oriented viral video fodder. CollegeHumor co-founder and CEO Ricky Van Veen told Mike Shields at MediaWeek his production team was “trying to shift from one-off viral videos to a full slate of shows.” That strategy saw the launch of programs like Full Benefits, Hello My Name Is, Very Mary-Kate, and the celebrity-studded Star of the Week. You should give all those titles a watch. They’re as entertaining as they are popular, and they’re very popular. Their productions also forced CollegeHumor to dive into,...

Approximately three years ago, The Walt Disney Company announced their ambitious plan to spend over $1 billion in renovations and new attractions to Disneyland’s lonely neighbor. Disney’s California Adventure opened in February 2001 to low attendance and some criticism from visitors. Many felt that the park, celebrating the people and places of the Golden State, lacked enough “Disney.” Sure, the place featured Disney characters and some rides or shows themed around them (It’s Tough To Be a Bug, Disney Animation come to mind), but the emphasis focused on the California culture.
Take for instance Superstar Limo, a low-budget dark ride taking “tourists” (a.k.a. theme park guests) around Los Angeles’ famous celebrity neighborhoods. This attraction was so heavily derided, it closed after one year in operation. Not until 2006 did a replacement come, in the form of Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue, based on the hit Pixar film,...

Title: "Chuck Versus the Angel de la Muerte"
Story: The Buy More Nerd Herd is left behind in tonight's new episode of "Chuck" when Team Bartowski is assigned to protect a soon-to-reform a South American dictator (Armand Assante) from an assassin. They end up at an embassy cocktail party with Chuck's sister Ellie (Sarah Lancaster) and brother-in-law Devon (Ryan McPartlin) in tow. Devon, who knows Chuck's secret identity following the events of the previous season, wants to play the spy game too... only things don't quite work the way he'd hoped. Spoilers coming.
Back On Track: After last night's two-hour stumble, "Chuck" finds its groove again with a tight, thrilling adventure. There's an acceptable amount of time spent on Chuck's continuing issues with tapping into the Intercept and his troubled relationship with agent Walker, but it is not the focus. Devon is a welcome addition to the group,...
