Beauty and the Beast (1946)

Goofs

Beauty and the Beast

Edit

Continuity

When Belle asks The Beast what he is doing in her room, he replies that he wanted to bring her a gift and manifests numerous loose pearls that turn into a necklace with two large integral brooches in his hand. As Belle approaches him after a scene cut, he is holding white necklaces. She tells him to "Get out!", and he drops a simple white necklace (i.e., no brooches) onto the table. Later, when Belle picks up the necklace, the brooches are attached.
As the boys ride out of the barn on Magnificent to go steal the treasure of The Beast, the lad on back loses his hat. In the next shot, shown from outside, both riders are wearing their hats.

Revealing mistakes

(at around 30 mins) The chin of the actor portraying the "arm candle branch" to the left of Belle as she nears the talking door is visible.
The Beast tells Belle that he will meet her at 7pm each day. When Belle first goes down for dinner, the clock shows 7:00, but only strikes 6 times.

Anachronisms

As Belle and The Beast walk in the garden, a comparatively modernly dressed boy in short pants is visible for a few seconds to the top right behind them.

Crew or equipment visible

(at around 47 mins) When Belle tells The Beast that she'd rather walk with him, the head of a crew member is visible on the right bottom corner.

Boom mic visible

Boom is visible at the top of the picture during the entire scene when Ludovic and Avenant first approach Diana's pavilion.
