Near the end of the film when Homer and his friends walk to the telegraph office Homer's tie is tied up short (the tail below the broad part of the tie) but when Homer enters the office and in the following scenes, the tie is tied correctly.
In multiple exterior scenes, especially during and after Lionel and Ulysses go to the Public Library, royal palm trees can clearly be seen through the upper windows, and then most obviously at 1:20:38 when the interior scene dissolves and they leave to go meet Augie and the "gang" on the street corner. The palms tree-lined road behind them, as well as the ones reflected in the window are so large and linear that the storefront scene appears to be shot on or adjacent Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA, and clearly not in Ithaca NY, where the story is set.
