Topper Returns

Continuity

When Gail is driving Topper's car in the chase, there is a closeup of the steering wheel moving on its own, and there is no assist knob present on the steering wheel. But, at the end of the chase, when she gets out of the car, the knob is clearly visible.
(at around 45 mins) When the chauffeur sits in the chair, the wall spins around and there is an identical chair on the other side. Later, the detective sits in the chair ,and when the wall spins around, there is no chair.
After falling into the water numerous times, Eddie should be soaked to the skin. Yet, even with his full length fur coat and chauffeur's uniform, he's dry a few scenes later.
Gail Richards' ghost retrieves the burning note from the fire place and blows out the flames. However, later when she shows the note to Cosmo, the note is undamaged.
When Bob the cab driver goes after Ann's attacker on the balcony, his hair is messed up by the wind, but when he comes back in and confronts Lillian the housekeeper, his hair is neatly combed.

Revealing mistakes

When an interrogated suspect is about to reveal something crucial, the lights go out, leaving the room in complete darkness. This shouldn't be since there's a fire burning in a large fireplace nearby.
When Cosmo, Gail, and Eddie are walking towards the house in the snow, Eddie stops walking, putting Gail to Cosmo's left (she grabs his arm). In the next shot a tree branch on Cosmo's right moves as if Gail moves it, but Cosmo still has his left arm raised as if Gail was holding his arm.
When Gail is driving Topper's car in the chase, the head of the driver is visible in the shot where the car skids around a hairpin curve.
Many wires can be seen as the "ghost Gail" is changing her outfit in the Chinese room.
When Gail the ghost is driving the car, there is a closeup of the steering wheel and pedals. However, despite the fact that the car is traveling at a high speed, rounding curves, and blowing the horn, the steering wheel is moving, but all the car pedals are perfectly still, and there is no sign of a horn being pressed down.

Plot holes

When Mrs. Topper calls the police to report her missing husband, she uses the same phone that Mr. Topper tried to use earlier. The phone is supposed to be out of order, yet the call goes through, and the police arrive to investigate.
Early on, Eddie is looking for Topper and winds up plunging down a shaft leading to an ocean inlet. Later on, Eddie is sitting in the trap door chair located in a different part of the house and winds up plunging down the same shaft as earlier.
When Gail is murdered, she lets out a scream, but no one seems to hear - not even Ann, who was in the next room.

Character error

When Topper goes by his house with the girls in the car, it is broad daylight. When they arrive next door at the Carrington mansion, it is dark outside. Topper and his chauffeur drive away without even seeing if anyone is home to let the girls in.
