Moe Howard, Larry Fine, Curly Howard, and Bud Jamison in So Long Mr. Chumps (1941)

Goofs

So Long Mr. Chumps

Edit

Continuity

The prison guard's hat, after Moe, Larry, and Percy slap their paintbrushes into this face, disappears when Curly walks up to him.
Curly and Larry swap standing positions when the gunman holds up the Stooges.
The shot of Curly getting splattered with the paintbrush when the Stooges and Percy are painting each other's uniforms is played twice.
When the Stooges take off the balls from their leg chains to play bowling, the balls reappear back on the chain, later, without any explanation.
When the Stooges notice a policeman on the sidewalk, a man can be seen in the background walking downstairs, but in a close-up shot of the Stooges, the man is not seen and in the next shot, he is at the bottom of the stairs.

Revealing mistakes

At the beginning of the short, the Stooges are supposed to collide their brooms together, but miss their mark, which is why they repeat it again.
Curly's hat accidentally falls off, after he hits Moe with the broom.
When Curly pulls the trigger to see if his gun is also a lighter, Moe's top hat starts to tip backwards before Curly actually fires the gun.

Miscellaneous

At the end, when Moe and Larry are breaking rocks on Curly's head, he says the line "That's a real one! I'm no fool." and starts laughing, with Moe and Larry about to, also. This was considered to be ad-lib moment for many years, but it was confirmed that it was indeed written into the script (the way Moe and Larry react makes it seem like an ad-lib).

Audio/visual unsynchronised

When the bullet is heard ricocheting all over the place, Curly says something, but cannot be heard, due to the sound effects. Update: read Curly's lips to see him saying I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

Crew or equipment visible

When the police station's doors cause the lamp's shade to break, you can see the wires pulling it apart.
