Shortly after the giraffes have entered the train wagon, the scene changes. The giraffes' heads, which were looking out of the wagon behind the elephant wagon, are gone while the elephants are entering.
The elephants' hats and costumes change between shots during the pyramid stunt.
When Dumbo and Timothy awaken to find themselves in a tree, Timothy, upon looking down, notices that the trunk of the tree is relatively free of branches, with no pond below, but there is a fence nearby. But after he and Dumbo fall, they break through two branches and somehow land in a pond near the fence. And when Timothy looks back toward the tree, the broken branches are all on the other side of the tree.
The footbridge of the elephants' wagon changes look from scene to scene. When the elephants enter during the train loading, the bridge has wooden pads to back it. The pads disappear while the bridge is used to free Matriarch. The footbridge has a sudden change of color after Matriarch took the big toss. There is another change of color after the upper part of the wagon falls down on Matriarch's head to finish the incident.
During the train loading, the two workers who are running into the picture while Matriarch is stuck have four fingers before they pick up the footbridge. When they start bouncing her, the lost fingers are back.
Dumbo drinks the beer through his trunk rather than spraying it into his mouth.
Female and baby ostriches are not black and white, but during "Baby Mine", they are.
The two giraffes shown in the beginning of the film have red tongues. However, giraffes have dark blue or black tongues.
Jumbo is waiting for the Stork despite living alone.
During the circus parade zebras are shown pulling a lion wagon. Zebras despite being related to horses and donkeys are the only ones from the same family that have been used domestically for work such as pulling wagons and riding on etc.
When the elephants are shown in bandages and stitches, one looks behind them and says "Oh, look at my beautiful tail" but her head is floating and clearly not connected to the rest of her body.
When both Timothy and Dumbo lands on the power lines of the Telephone poles with the 5 black crows, Dumbo sinks the power lines to the ground. This would cause both Timothy and Dumbo to get electrocuted upon touching the ground.
As Mr. Stork looks down from the cloud and scans for the circus train, the rim light on the cloud overlaps his beak. (This mistake was corrected on both the 2001 60th Anniversary Edition and the Blu-Ray remaster, but was left uncorrected for the 2006 Big Top Edition.)
After Mrs. Jumbo closes the door on the other elephants she wraps Dumbo up in his own ears. As she reaches for the second ear, the first ear disappears for an instant. (This was corrected on the Blu-Ray version.)
The background clouds stop moving when the stork first stops walking along the top of the circus train.
In all the scenes with rain, lightning and thunder are shown to be going off at the same time. Light travels faster than sound, so in reality, there would first be a flash of lightning and then a clap of thunder.
When Timothy Mouse tricks the ringmaster into using Dumbo as his circus climax, he hops on the ringmaster's hat brim while he says, "He jumps from a springboard." As he does, his mouth does not move during the first two words of his line.
When Timothy and Dumbo come upon the bucket of water with the clowns' champagne, Timothy scoops up Dumbo's trunk. As he does, his mouth does not move when he says, "Ups-a-daisy".
As the stork starts reading his map to locate Casey Jr. before delivering Dumbo, his beak doesn't move till just before he starts moving his finger along his route.
When Timothy and Dumbo get drunk from drinking the water with the clowns' champagne, Timothy slides down Dumbo's trunk. As he squeals, "Whee!", we see him smile and turn a somersault, but his mouth is not moving.
Twice in the movie, a map of the southeastern United States is visible. In both cases, it reads KY (Kentucky) where TN (Tennessee) should be.
When the storks fly over Florida to deliver babies to the circus, the map shows Alabama without its panhandle. Florida connects with Mississippi.
The Matriarch always leads her group of female elephants, which includes being in front with all the other females following her. The Matriarch enters the wagon last when the train is loaded.
During the clown firemen's act, there is a barrel labeled "H2O" for water (two hydrogen and one oxygen per molecule), but the 2 is in superscript, rather than subscript.
