At the beginning, after Mike joins Jane at the luncheon counter, she is holding a piece of toast in her left hand; i.e., next to Mike, who is sitting on her left. On the next cut, a shot of the mirror showing the reflection of Jane holding the toast and Mike pointing, the image in the mirror shows Jane holding the toast in her hand further away from Mike. Then, when it cuts back to them, Jane is no longer holding the toast.
On the rainy night when Michael and Jane go to the room he's renting for the first time, there are different water stains on his coat in successive shots. The left sleeve is dry before they enter the room. Once they get inside, both coat sleeves are wet.
When Jane leaves the coffee shop to follow The Stranger, the shades on the doors are higher in the outside shot than they were from the inside camera angle.
(at around 4 mins) After Mike enters the press room, he shakes some hands and then puts his hands on the shoulders of another reporter. That reporter is holding a cigar with his left hand, but after a quick change of camera angle, the reporter is now holding the cigar with his right hand.
When Mike is in his apartment, he has his right hand hanging over the edge of the drawer chest. On the next cut, his right hand has changed position and is now resting partially on top of the chest.
When the prosecutor cross-examines defendant Joe Briggs during his trial for murder, he cites Briggs's previous criminal record of one robbery conviction. When a defendant testifies, it is proper to impeach his credibility by introducing a prior felony conviction.
