The attack on Otto von Bismarck in 1866 by the Jewish Engishman Ferdinand Cohen-Blind is an actual fact. However while in the movie he was forced to kill him by the British government in real life he did it on his own will to avoid a possible war and to save Germany. It was added to this movie to add antisemitic tones to the movie.
Bismarck's famous "Iron and Blood"-speech from 1862 was spoken in the Parliament during the Constitution conflict. In the movie these words were said much earlier, on his first conference after assigning his position as prime minister.
The edition of "The Times" has the date: Friday, 28th July 1863. However that day was a Tuesday. Furthermore Pthe Princess Victoria's name is misspelled as "ViKtoria".
The second cancellation of the Parliament was not in 1862 during Bismarcks speech, as in the movie but in 1866 (which was also depicted in the movie as the third cancellation). The first cancellation was in 1861/2 but it was only briefly mentioned in the first scenes of the movie.
In the movie Princess Victoria is portrayed as a woman who strongly interfered in political decisions. While she admired Bismarck for his considerable talents but thought that he corrupted the society, she isolated herself in political decisions during that time.
One of the newspapers shows the 20th April 1863 as a Thursday. BUt this day was a Monday.
