When explaining the law involving the executor of an estate, Mr. Bouton refers to the "Commonwealth of Louisiana." However, "commonwealth" is a specific designation for only four US states, not including Louisiana. The proper designation would have been "State of Louisiana."
Near the beginning the film, four of the characters sing the popular tune "Dem Golden Slippers." However, the film takes place in 1857, and the song wasn't written until 1879.
