The Flying Deuces (1939)

Goofs

The Flying Deuces

Edit

Continuity

After singing "Harvest Moon", Stan and Ollie pick up their suitcases, but when they do, they pick up the other one's suitcase, not their own that they had previously been carrying around.
When Georgette faints, Stan pours water on her head to revive her, but her hair is suddenly dry when Stan and Ollie run for the window after being confronted by her husband.
The water pitcher changes position before and after Laurel slides the desk in front of the window.
As Ollie is untying the rope attached to the heavy rock from his waist, he has his back turned to Stanley. When Ollie is pulled into the river after Stanley throws the rock in, he is now facing Stanley.
The position of the towels on the towel rack in Laurel & Hardy's room changes when Stan is under the low ceiling.

Factual errors

Stan and Ollie are found guilty of desertion and are sentenced to death. However, the death penalty for desertion was only sought during wartime. They would only be dishonorably discharged and sentenced to five years imprisonment.

Revealing mistakes

Obvious double for Ollie when he is accidentally pulled into the river after Stanley throws the heavy rock into it.
There's obviously a structure underneath the huge pile of laundry to make steps so Stan can climb up to the top.
When shark pass Ollie's pants the first time, Its fins already pass his left leg Indicating a film cut.

Miscellaneous

The luggage and suitcases carried by Laurel & Hardy and by Reginald Gardiner are obviously empty by the way they are carried so lightly.

Anachronisms

In this movie, set in 1939, the Legionnaires are shown wearing the blue and white uniform that was discarded during World War I.
