Gary Cooper in Beau Geste (1939)

Goofs

Beau Geste

Edit

Continuity

It is night when Markoff and the others go into the barracks to stop the mutiny, but it is mid-morning when they come out.
John, as a boy, goes into the pond to get the boats and is wounded by one of the cannon. The wound is visible before the cannon fires.
After the Arab attack on the fort, there is a shot of the attacking forces with the fort in the background. On the tower, the French flag is flying. A short time later, Sergeant Markoff orders the bugler to "Run up the colors!" The bugler raises the colors on an empty flagpole on the tower. There is no explanation for the disappearance of the previous flag.
Beau's hands change position as John leaves the fort and again when Digby enters.

Factual errors

When the "Blue Water" is stolen with the lights out it appears pitch black, but that can't be correct because there is a bright fire burning in the fireplace.

Revealing mistakes

After Markoff puts the first corpse back on the wall to give the illusion that there are many legionnaires on the wall, it is clear that the corpse is still breathing.
When Beaujolais is examining the corpses at the beginning of the film, Voisin half-blinks twice.

Miscellaneous

When the Arabs attack Zinderneuf, Markoff tells his men that they will get a chance to die with their boots on. As they have all just been aroused from bed, as a matter of fact none of them has any boots on at all.
