The film was meant to be the first in a low-budget franchise starring Anna May Wong as a amateur detective who uses astrology to solve crimes.
The film is introduced by Manly P. Hall, a famous mystic, philosopher, and lecturer of the time, whose book "The Secret Teachings of All Ages" caused a minor sensation on its publication in 1928.
According to the AFI Catalog entry for this film, the plot of this picture is very similar to From Headquarters (1933), also from Warner Bros., with forensics substituted for astrology. Margaret Lindsay was in both films.
The comic situations in this film are provided by a dumb cop and the coroner of the police.
