Goofs

When Jim Lane and Gunner get in the B-17 and begin to taxi, there are no numbers visible on either side of the nose. The next shot (starting the takeoff roll) shows a large deformed "S8" painted on the left side of the nose, but it is actually a reversed shot of no. "82", Two shots later the B-17 nose has changed to an obviously reversed "52", along with an obviously reversed BB52 on the tail fin. All of the shots in the air and during the crash depict a B-17 without numbers on the nose or tail. After Lane rejoins the Army Air Corp and he is lecturing the B-17 crew members, the fourth B-17 in line is "52" and the fifth B-17 is "82" with both nose and tail fin BB numbers.

Before they go to shopping, Ann puts her hands on Jim's arms, no nail polish. After shopping, they are at a dinner club, where Ann's nails are manicured in a dark colour.

Early in the movie, the "Drake Bullet" plane which Jim Lane is piloting springs an oil leak, which blows back on the cowling and side of the plane, clearly staining it with black oil. However, when we see the plane land in the Kansas wheat field and taxi to a stop, the side of the plane now has no signs of any oil stains whatsoever. But when the camera angle goes to a close-up of Jim climbing out of the plane, varying degrees of the oil stains on the side of the plane are again visible.

Jim Lane is seen with a bottle of champagne in one hand, a glass in the other. He pours himself a glass of champagne and starts to say a line of dialogue; the camera angle changes before he finishes his sentence, but now the bottle and the glass have suddenly switched hands.

When Jim Lane sits the landlady down to talk to her about rent arrangements, he reaches out and holds her with his arms outstretched. On his left arm (closest to the camera), his wristwatch is alternately covered with his shirt cuff, then uncovered and visible, then covered, between shots.

When Jim Lane is talking with Howard B. Drake in his office, outside the window can be seen "D" & "R" in big letters, presumably the first 2 letters of "DRAKE". Unfortunately, they are the wrong way round for viewing from outside.
