Toward the end of the film, the gang members are in Darla's hospital room while she is recuperating from a tonsillectomy. She tells the gang she can only eat ice cream, and offers the rest of the hospital food to the gang. Buckwheat grabs half of a large watermelon, cut lengthwise. A second later, he is shown holding and eating a quarter of a watermelon.
