This movie is about a young Hungarian man named Abbe Drechler who, under mystical circumstances, disappears completely from the face of the earth. Facing unknown perils at every turn, he wanders this otherworldly wasteland searching for a way back home...
The script is actually pretty well-written, although basing a whole movie on mainly one single actor comes with it's share of problems. The man playing Abbe (I don't know the name of the actor) executes the job quite well however and I find this type of screenplay/acting especially interesting since the movie was made in 1937... quite revolutionary at the time, I would imagine.
