Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, Lester Matthews, and Irene Ware in The Raven (1935)

Goofs

The Raven

Edit

Continuity

The on-screen credits interchanged the character names for Ian Wolfe and Spencer Charters.
Bateman has turned away from Vollin when Vollin shoots him. But he clutches his chest and falls.
When Judge Thatcher goes to Vollin's home to plead his case, the shadow of Vollin's stuffed raven changes position. First, it is in front of Thatcher's shadow, then behind, then in front again.

Factual errors

After the opening car crash, when Jean Thatcher is shown in the hospital as being near death and in need of emergency surgery, her face is completely unblemished by the accident and her hair and makeup are still perfect.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

After Dr. Vollin regales his house guests on the subject of Edgar Allan Poe, all rise to retire. Jean Thatcher stops, returns to her former place on the couch, and has to free her gown from the cushion. This action causes her to be the last guest to leave the room, allowing her to have a private moment with Bateman. In their subsequent two-shot, she apologizes to him for having been startled earlier when he'd entered the room where she was fixing her hair.

Revealing mistakes

When Bateman shoots at the mirrors, there is an obvious time lag before each one breaks.
A tree uprooted by a storm is obviously loose and being blown by wind.
Notice, after Bateman (Karloff) gets face surgery his face looks almost normal. Then during each scene afterwards it has changed more crooked.
