The heroine is sent to jail for 10 days for contempt of court because she won't reveal to whom some flowers were sent. The plaintiff's case is then dismissed. This is incorrect court procedure. The refusal to testify is an offense against the court and has no effect on the case. After serving her sentence of 10 days, the heroine will be brought back into court and asked to testify again. If she still refuses to testify, she will be sent to jail again and again until she testifies, or the Judge determines that she never will.
