Joan Crawford in Sadie McKee (1934)

Goofs

Sadie McKee

Edit

Continuity

When the chauffeur-driven car is pulling up to the estate at the beginning of the film, seen from the rear window only one person is in the back seat. But on the next shot, a side view of the back seat, three people are sitting tightly together in the back seat.
When Brennan leans back on the sofa, Sadie then also leans back next to him facing forward. But on the next cut, the orientation of her head changed. She is now no longer leaning and her head is turned facing toward him.
When Sadie and Brennan are both drunk and on the edge of the bed, their faces are cheek-to-cheek after kissing. But on the next cut, the distance between their heads has now changed and are further apart.
At the beginning of the film when Sadie gets right up to the window of the stopped car, one of the three passengers says hello. She then does a quick wave and the car drives off. But on the next cut as the car proceeds to drive through the entrance gate, she is now a distance behind the car and repeats the quick wave.
When Sadie is at Brennan's residence after dancing with him, she leans backward against the back of the sofa placing both her hands on the outside back. But on the next cut, her hands have now changed orientation and the right hand is on the inside back.

Character error

When Tommy is in his hospital room he makes Dr. Briggs promise not to tell Sadie of his condition. However, when Dr. Briggs leaves the room, Sadie is there with the other doctors and she already knows. Dr. Briggs then says, "He made me promise he wouldn't tell her." This dialogue obviously makes no sense and is wrong. What he meant to say was, "He made me promise not to tell her."
