Boris Karloff, Reginald Denny, Wallace Ford, J.M. Kerrigan, and Victor McLaglen in The Lost Patrol (1934)

Goofs

The Lost Patrol

Edit

Continuity

Boris Karloff's character name is spelled Sanders and it keeps getting pronounced differently. Sometimes as Sand-ers, sometimes as Sond-ers.

Revealing mistakes

As the plane is circling the encampment, you can see tire marks in the sand.
The plan is to head toward the river at night, but it is still daylight when the men start out.
Abelson says he is sweating more at night than during the day, but it is still sunny with vivid shadows.

Miscellaneous

During the night the soldiers are shown to still be sweating, even though nighttime temperatures in the Mesopotamian desert often drop below freezing.

Plot holes

The Arabs must be crack shots. They rarely miss, and when they do hit no one is ever wounded, always killed. In at least one case, they appear to be shooting through a sand dune.
