- While her ever-lovin' fiancé "Dynamite" Carson is out of town, Rosie Sturgess, Kansas City manicurist by trade and a gold-digger by bent, plies her wiles on Jimmy the Dude, who is a little sharper than she is, and he gets away with a sampling of her goodies and the diamond engagement ring "Dynamite" gave her. Knowing that "Dynamite" is not fond of having engagement rings he has given to a doll end up in the possession of another man, Rosie and her friend Marie Callahan board a train filled with convention-attendees and head for New York, while introducing themselves to two small-town aldermen as members of the wholesome "Outdoor Girls of America Scouts." - Friends and roommates Rosie Sturgess and Marie Callahan work side by side as manicurists in a Kansas City barber shop, dreaming and scheming to get one of their wealthy customers apiece to marry them to get them out of their working-class drudgery. While Marie is more methodical and cutthroat in her approach, Rosie, much to Marie's chagrin, has fallen in love with rough-around-the-edges gangster Dynamite Carson, whose marriage proposal she accepts and who has vowed to go straight for her. But an incident involving Rosie's engagement ring forces her and Marie to go on the lam from Dynamite, who is in quick pursuit of them. In their chase, Rosie, Marie and Dynamite get into one misadventure after another. What happens between Rosie and Dynamite and with Marie is ultimately affected by their encounter with extremely wealthy Junior Ashcraft who believes his Paris-residing bride "Lovums" is cheating on him with a Russian Lothario named Dr. Sascha Pilnakoff and who has hired French detective Marcel Duryea to find evidence, Junior unaware that Duryea and Pilnakoff are working together on their own goal.—Huggo
