Joan Blondell and Glenda Farrell in Kansas City Princess (1934)

Goofs

Kansas City Princess

Edit

Continuity

When Rosie and Marie tell Ashcraft they need money to pay back Alderman James Cameron what they owe; they ask for $1342.68 and Ashcraft writes them a check for that amount. However, what they owe is $1600, and Cameron thanked the girls for paying back the $1600.

Audio/visual unsynchronised

In Paris when Dynamite is driving and the car makes a sudden screeching stop hitting a curb; it causes Rosie and Marie to bounce around. However, they began bouncing before the car ever came to a halt.

Plot holes

On the ship sailing to Paris, Alderman Cameron and Warren lend Rosie and Marie $1600 with the stipulation that the money is paid back before arrival in Paris. However, the girls are stranded passengers without any obvious means of making money therefore it makes no sense for Cameron and Warren to expect them to pay it back before Paris.

Boom mic visible

At about the 57 minute mark when Marie tells Rosie she should be in bed the boom mic shadow moves above them.

Character error

After Ashcraft tells Marie to get out of his room, she heads toward Rosie's room. Marie does a frantic knock on the door then tries the door handle but the door is locked. Since she wasn't aware that Dr. Sascha had locked Rosie's room; Marie should have first tried the door handle and upon discovering that it was locked then start banging on the door frantically. Glenda Farrell as the actor knowing that the door was locked caused the character to react prematurely thus leading to an error.
