The amusement park scenes were shot at the Santa Monica Pier, a 15-minute drive from the Hal Roach Studios in Culver City, California. The attractions seen in the film are long gone but the pier survives, with new rides and shops.
The final "Our Gang" appearance of Allen 'Farina' Hoskins. He was "retired" from the series after nine years in 1931, but brought back to play an older version of Farina for this film.
The beach scenes were filmed at Venice Amusement Pier. Constructed in 1921, Venice Amusement Pier was located at the foot of Windward Avenue, about 6 miles southwest of Hal Roach Studios. The pier was demolished in 1946, and nothing remains today except for the Venice Breakwater located where the end of the pier was. It should not be confused with Venice Pier at the foot of Washington Boulevard which still stands in 2020.
Even though there may have been two other uncredited appearances, this is the final appearance of Mildred Kornman (younger sister of Mary) in a Hal Roach/MGM production of "The Little Rascals" or "Our Gang," but as of her 95th birthday, she is the longest surviving child actor ever have been officially credited in an original "Our Gang" comedy film, ahead of Stanley Kibrick (age 92) and Robert Blake (age 86).
