The Mouthpiece (1932)

Goofs

The Mouthpiece

Edit

Factual errors

Day is referred to in a newspaper as having been an assistant deputy district attorney. The "deputy" is redundant and wrong. The correct title is Assistant District Attorney.
In front of a witness, a man insults Day, who threatens him with a suit for slander or libel. A lawyer would hardly threaten libel, as this applies only to statements made in writing.

Audio/visual unsynchronised

Near the beginning of the film, Vince looks at an electric clock on his desk, but the ticking of a mechanical clock is heard.

Crew or equipment visible

Just as Vince's car drives off after picking up Celia during her last day, a lighting stand can be seen briefly across a doorstep.
As we follow Vince Day across a street in a crane shot, the shadow of the crane, as well as a camera and cameraman and focus puller, fall across the street in front of him.

Character error

Day allows Barton to confess his crime without dismissing the secretary, a dangerous breach of confidence.
