  • Karl Schneider : Say, be careful Sophie.

    [helps her down a ladder]

Karl Schneider : You might fall and break your whatchamacallit.

[leans over to grab some food]

Sophie, the Cook : You've got flour on your whatchamacallit!

Karl Schneider : [bends over]  Get it off.

[Sophie smiles and brushes the flour off Karl's backside]

  • Karl Schneider : Are you the cook?

Sophie, the Cook : [bent over placing a pan in the oven]  What do I look like?

Karl Schneider : [peers at her backside]  Well, I haven't seen your royal highness before.

  • Sophie, the Cook : You chauffeurs are all alike. Good for nothing loafers!

  • Karl Schneider : Well, you have nerve. Coming and sitting in my room without so much of a "if you please" or "by your leave" or - you smell of onions. Phew!

Sophie, the Cook : But, last night?

Karl Schneider : What about last night?

Sophie, the Cook : I thought that...

Karl Schneider : You thought - listen! What do you think I am? A train that runs on schedule? Last night was - last night.

  • Karl Schneider : Sophie, you oughten keep your money in your stocking.

Sophie, the Cook : But, its safe there.

Karl Schneider : I know; but, it spoils the shape of your leg.

  • Sophie, the Cook : You tell it very good. Almost as good as you tell the story about the coffee shop you're going to buy for me in Vienna - with my money. That's what you want! My money! "You shouldn't work so hard, Sophie. What you should have is a nice little business of our own. With a man like me to help you run it." My savings. All I've got to show for 35 years of hard work - ever since I was 9 years old. And all the time you carrying on with that moon-faced hussy and laughing at me. Both of you laughing at me!
