The film is set in the 1880s. Don Carlos and two Mexican companions enter a small town in Texas during its Fourth of July celebrations (a national celebration in the United States). He learns that cattle rustlers have stolen valuable cattle from Lazy Y Ranch, and is hired to capture the culprits. He asks 7000 dollars as a reward in case of success. Don Carlos spends the next nine days in town, romancing pretty women with honeyed lies and musical performances with his guitar. He makes no visible effort to fulfill his mission, but he has already figured how to capture the cattle rustlers. On the 10th day, he easily captures his targets. After claiming his reward, Carlos leaves for Mexico with one of the town's women.
