John Boles and Jeanie Lang in King of Jazz (1930)

Goofs

King of Jazz

Edit

Continuity

Whiteman's six violinists are introduced playing in two rows of 3's. Then without missing a beat, they are suddenly seen in an overhead shot playing in a circle.

Revealing mistakes

The Rhythm Boys and The Sisters G sing Yellen & Ager's " Happy FEET". But the number is introduced in a stop-motion sequence with the title "Happy SHOES".
In the single musical sequence that they share, Jeanie Lang, Grace Hayes and William Kent sing "I LIKE to do things for you". But the title-card that introduces the sequence incorrectly gives the song-title as "I'D LIKE to do things for you".
In the opening credits and at the opening of the "Ragamuffin Romeo" number Marion Stadler's last name is misspelled as "Stattler".
At the beginning of the "Monterey" number, Jeanette Loff's first name is misspelled as "Jeannette".

Character error

In the introduction to ''Ladies of the Press" Grace Hayes is listed as 'Third Reporter' and Kathryn Crawford is listed as 'Fourth Reporter'. This is the reverse of the actual case. Grace Hayes is easily recognizable as the 'Rough Wife' in "Do Things for You". She is the fourth and final reporter in the skit.
