When Myra (aka Miss Brown) is talking with Magee and gets interrupted by Mary and Mrs. Rhodes; Myra walks toward the bottom of the staircase to confront Mary and Mrs. Rhodes. But on the following shot; Myra repeats the same action of walking toward the bottom of the staircase to confront Mary and Mrs. Rhodes.
When Magee commands the Baldpate intruders to sit down; he holds the gun horizontally with the gun barrel pointing to his left. But on the next cut; he is now holding the gun vertically with the gun barrel pointing up.
When Hal Bentley uses a key to enter Baldpate; William Magee shouts out "The Seventh Key". However, this is wrong. The key holders are as follows: Key #1 is Magee; Key #2 is Bland; Key#3 is Mary Norton; Key #4 is Peters the Hermit; Key #5 is Myra Thornhill; Key #6 is Mayor Cargan, and Key #7 is Hayden, therefore, Hal Bentley is actually Key #8.
When Mary and Mrs. Rhodes leaves the Baldpate Inn with the money; the film shows them in an entirely different location conducting a whole interaction regarding the money and a newspaper story.
All this is done outside the presence of Magee. However, this is a fictitious story within the real story of the film and all the characters are part of a stock company in the business of performing a hoax on Magee. It makes no sense to have Mrs. Rhodes and Mary act out a scene in a fictitious story that is separate from Baldpate for the benefit of Magee however Magee is not there to see it.
