An Incomplete Nitrate Print of this film (reels 1,2,3 of 4 reels) survive in the UCLA Film and Television Archives, Reel 4 was discarded 1990 Due to Nitrate deterioration, and film was listed for Preservation after film was incomplete.
One of the earliest of over 700 Paramount Productions, filmed between 1929 and 1949, which were sold to MCA/Universal in 1958 for television distribution, and have been owned and controlled by Universal ever since. However, because of legal complications, this particular title was not included in the original television package and may not have ever been televised.
The screenplay was based on the Broadway production of "Elmer the Great" written by Ring Lardner and produced by George M. Cohan which opened at the Lyceum Theater on September 24, 1928 and ran for 40 performances.
