Boxing Romance
boblipton9 March 2003
Blithe-hearted Billy Smith must save the day by staying four rounds with tank boxer Slugger Sampson, even with crooked, sap-wielding promoter Jimmy Durfee trying to lay him out, in order to get the money to pay for the Widow Lucian's eye operation, and so win the heart of her daughter, Tena. Got it?

No, this movie is not as melodramatic as it sounds. It starts slowly and conventionally, padded out with some comedy gags that don't work too well, but once the actual boxing starts, it picks up dramatically, with some good camera-work and excitement. Not a classic by any means, but worth a look.
