Here's another of the Dinky Doodles that Walter Lantz was making in this period, one of the series of shorts which he directed, animated and co-starred in with the animated Dinky and his dog.
In this one, he sends them off to the arctic with a detour through Polynesia ("Charleston" the dog remarks of the hula girls) and China before winding up in the far north, dealing with the usual icons of the area -- igloos, Eskimos and, of course, the high, pointy mountains in the arctic ocean near the north pole, which looks like a barber's pole.
Actually, it's a lot better than that. Although the artwork is basic for the era, it is more than adequate for the job and the gags are well constructed and timed, no doubt due in no small part to his assistant animator, Clyde Geronomi.
