"The Wild Goose Chaser" is one of Ben Turpin's stranger and less satisfying comedy shorts. First, there really isn't that much of Ben in most of the film...which is odd since he is the star. Second, there really aren't all that many laughs, either.
When the story begins, Ben's wife is seeing an attorney about a divorce. It seems all Ben wants to do is hunt and fish....and she's had enough. But soon after, she and the attorney have some adventures and she rushes home to retrieve the letter in which she says she's leaving Ben. What's next? See the film.
Few laughs...mostly because when Turpin isn't in the film it just isn't all that funny. Worth seeing if you absolutely adore silent comedies, otherwise you could do a lot better.
