It might be best to hold off on this one.

"Romeo and Juliet" with Ben Turpin is available on YouTube...but it's not exactly a film I'd rush to see. Much of it is that the short film is very truncated. This often happens with older films and in this case it would appear about half the movie is missing. IMDB says it's a 10 minute picture...but this version is only five. And, because of that, it's confusing and disjointed.

The first portion features a belly dancer trying to vamp Ben. Why? We have no idea. Then the story picks up at a theater where Turpin and Billy Bevan are doing Shakespeare. It's a total mess...and eventually the entire set comes crashing down.

This film is confusing and mostly unfunny. I won't blame the filmmakers or actors....so much of it appears to be missing. And, if a complete copy is out there somewhere, please let me know. In the meantime, I am not scoring this one as there just isn't enough to ensure a fair number.
