This film was considered to be lost until in October 1994 a nitrate copy was found in the Schardt collection. The film was subsequently restored by the Dutch Filmmuseum. In December 1998 the film with the new score was released on video by the Filmmuseum.
The scene in which Annie hangs from a windmill was shot near Nijmegen. For performing this stunt without a stand-in, she received a bottle of champagne from the director.
The scenes supposedly taking place in Delft were shot in Haarlem.
