The play by George Broadhurst and George V. Hobart premiered on Broadway at the Liberty Theatre on September 7th, 1908, and ran for 64 performances. Lillian Russell originated the role of Henrietta Barrington in the production and reprised it in this film. Also in the original theatrical cast were Will Archie, Sydney Booth, Gilbert Douglas, Mary Elizabeth Forbes, Thurston Hall, T. Hayes Hunter, Frank Sheridan, and Ernest Truex.
