It's Good to Be the King
boblipton11 June 2013
His Majesty Mack Swain decides to marry Cecile Arnold, but a couple of knaves get involved, trying to arrange trysts and knock off the king with an Infernal Device.

This competent Keystone plays a bit with anachronism as the medieval Mack Swain, Harry McCoy and Don Barclay play with the iron bomb with the slow-burning fuse. The bevy of dancing maidens, playing a bit with the early vamp image, are quite happy with the King, but Swain has been better. He was the most accomplished scene stealer on the Keystone lot, but he was also frequently cast as the lead. Here, as a rather gross monarch, he is a bit out of his element.

Interesting nonsense
deickemeyer14 December 2019
Mack Swain appears in this costume number as a king on his throne, surrounded by dancing girls. He chooses one girl but the hero abducts her. The action is of burlesque character and contains considerable interesting nonsense. - The Moving Picture World, April 24, 1915
