The Regiment arrives with Tonio, now an officer. Tonio asks for Marie's hand. Marquise confesses the truth to Sulpice that Marie is actually her own illegitimate daughter. The Duchess of Crakentorp and her nephew arrive and learn that Marie was raised by soldiers. The Duchess leaves, The Marquise admits she is Marie's mother, and gives her consent for Marie and Tonio to be married.
